Governors' Private Camp
The Ma'asai Mara, Kenya
AT A GLANCE:
- Tented camp on the Mara River
- Exciting wildlife sightings
- Smaller and more private than its sister camps
WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT IT:
Governors’ Private Camp is an exclusive camp that sits on the banks of the Mara River. It has been described as the crown jewel in the Governors’ Camp Collection crown. Positioned on the banks of the Mara River and surrounded by a light forest canopy, the camp does little to deter the opulent wildlife and bird life in the area.
Each of the 8 safari tents has an en-suite bathroom and a large veranda allowing guests to watch the world go by in privacy. There is a bar and dining tent at the heart of the camp where delicious food is served, and where guests can tailor their own menus with the chef on their arrival at camp. We think this is a very unique feature, and one that we like.
Governors’ Private Camp focuses on guests enjoying their safari holiday in privacy and seclusion. As the camp is located in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, guests will experience a wide variety of game as well as witness the Great Migration in the summer months.
We recommend Governors’ Private Camp to those who want a more rustic safari experience - the camp is fairly basic but for those looking for a private experience that is not over the top, it is a great choice.
