WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT IT:
Nestled between the Maasai Mara National Park in the north, and the Mara River in the South, Mara River Camp enjoys some superb wildlife action. On the northern tip of the Serengeti, the camp experiences the Great Migration at its doorstep.
Mara River Camp is a recently developed camp in comparison to some of the older ones in the area, and as such scores well on sustainable tourism. The camp runs on its own custom-designed solar power system, so it gives guests the chance to enjoy the environment whilst still protecting and preserving it. The camps interior is modern, and styled with the Maasai Mara’s warm primary colors combined with canvas, stone and raw leather for cool relaxation.
The spacious living areas flow out onto open decks which allows one a great view of a bend in the Mara River, and a good vantage point for the potential spectacle of the Migration river crossings.
We think it’s a refreshing choice since it’s a little more modern than some other accommodation options in this area, although the more traditional camps can be more authentic.
